Oi
Oi makes an ultra-heavy Arabic and Latin headline despite its nominal 400 weight. Try a short title card and leave space around the dense letter shapes.

Oi is Kostas Bartsokas’s ultra-heavy display design, rooted in exaggerated slab-serif lettering. The supplied version 4.000 includes Arabic as well as Latin letters. Its purpose is a short, conspicuous headline rather than an unobtrusive paragraph, even though the file is registered under the regular weight value 400.
A numeric weight label does not measure the visual mass of a design against every other family. Judge the result on a poster, a cover or a title card with the real amount of text. Keep short lines and ample surrounding space. Longer messages can become a block of dark shapes, so move supporting information to a calmer companion instead of forcing everything into the headline.
Working with Oi
Test a one-line title card using Oi’s included Latin for a second-language name. Compare Lalezar for another heavy Arabic display voice and Cairo for the smaller explanatory line. Preview the whole card at video size and look at counters and dot separation. If fitting the title requires severe horizontal compression, shorten the wording or change the design.
Files, styles and coverage
This package supplies one original static TTF at weight 400 in the ZIP; the web preview uses prepared WOFF2 subsets. Version: 4.000. The supplied font covers Arabic and Latin.
Explore posters and advertising and other display fonts. Prepare a sample with the Arabic keyboard; our guide to choosing an Arabic font covers selection and proofing.
If the artist name should emphasize angular overlaps rather than Oi’s inflated mass, inspect Blaka’s experimental Kufi and blackletter. Check the actual joins and dots; Blaka’s download supplies the standard monochrome family.
License and original files
The ZIP includes the original files and the exact SIL Open Font License 1.1. Personal and commercial use are permitted under its terms. Retain the license when redistributing, respect reserved names and do not sell the font alone. See the official source for this version.
