Gandom

Gandom is Saber Rastikerdar’s Persian text font, with Arabic letters and a Latin component borrowed from Noto Serif. The upstream repository is archived; this download preserves its single regular release.

A reading sample from the archived project

For a Persian essay or a small printed booklet, compare one complete page with the same text set in your current font. Include punctuation and any Latin titles or references used in the publication. The included Latin component can help create a first bilingual sample, but apparent size and paragraph color still need adjustment.

There is no designed bold file in this package. Choose another family for emphatic headings if synthetic bold changes the text too much. Archiving does not prevent use of the existing release, but it does mean that your production decision should stand on the file you can inspect today, with no dependency on a future repair.

The ZIP contains 1 original TTF file, version 0.8, with the license. Available preview weights: 400. The supplied source covers Arabic, Persian, Latin.

Compare the intended use

Noto Naskh Arabic provides a multiweight comparison; Amiri offers a different approach to literary page texture.

If a Persian reading page needs weights from 400 to 700, try Parastoo’s variable Naskh-inspired design. For Arabic passages, explicitly select Arabic in the application; paragraph direction alone does not configure the language.

License and source

Personal and commercial use, embedding and redistribution are permitted under SIL Open Font License 1.1. Keep the included license and notices when distributing font files. The package also retains the original Latin component notices and Apache 2.0 terms. See the official Gandom source.
