PakType Naqsh is an Arabic-script typeface designed and developed by Lateef Sagar Shaikh. Thin strokes, sharp turns, and tall forms give a short heading a formal character. This download supplies the original Regular 400 TTF from PakType’s 9.0 publication.
A fine drawing for names and headings
Try Naqsh on an event heading, a formal invitation, or the opening page of a booklet. Its contrast needs enough space and a clear background. Begin with the actual names in the layout: a long sequence of upright forms can change the balance more than a short demonstration word suggests.
For invitations and announcements, inspect the printed result at the intended size. Fine strokes may weaken on textured paper or against pale backgrounds. Keep addresses and schedules in a calmer companion. The supplied style is nominally Regular 400; no separate bold or italic is included.
Test marks and mixed writing
Basic Arabic and Persian letters, Urdu letter forms, numeral sets, and common vowel marks are present. Selected Urdu phrases were tested for joining, but a limited sample does not establish complete language support. Enter marked names with the Arabic keyboard and check them in your final software before sending the design to print.
Universalis ADF Std Regular supplies the Latin characters. Start with this integrated companion for short bilingual details and compare their apparent size. If you want another expressive Arabic voice, try Ruwudu. Mirza supplies four weights, from 400 to 700, for testing a broader hierarchy. The Naskh collection helps place Naqsh beside quieter reading designs. The font selection guide explains how to evaluate a real text sample.
Source files and the font exception
GPL version 2 with a font exception permits use in commercial documents. Embedding the font does not by itself make the document GPL. Redistribution of the font carries its own license and source obligations; the download retains the corresponding sources and copyright notices, including the Latin attribution.
