Farbod is a Persian and Arabic Naskh typeface by Mohammad Saleh Souzanchi. Its fine details suit printed pages and generous reading sizes. The download contains the original Regular TTF from version 3.2.5, with an OFL license.
Choose Farbod for a printed reading page
The designer positions Farbod for publishing, high resolution screens, or screen text larger than 18 pixels. That guidance matters: a delicate letter can survive well on paper yet lose definition in a small interface label. Start with a representative page, including the smallest caption, before choosing your final type size. Increasing contrast with a dark text color will help preserve its thin details.
Use it for essays, literary extracts, or a formal Persian booklet. In a book and print layout, judge a full paragraph rather than a striking title alone. Keep headings distinct through spacing and size; this release supplies one 400 Regular style, so a genuine bold companion is not included.
Arabic, Persian, and a separate Latin companion
The file covers the basic Arabic alphabet, Persian letters, Arabic and Persian digits, and common vowel marks. It does not supply a Latin alphabet. Pair it with a Latin book face such as Source Serif 4, then adjust the perceived size and baseline on a mixed language spread. Matching point sizes alone will not ensure equal visual weight.
Compare Amiri when you need a broader editorial family, and Markazi Text when variable weights matter. The Naskh collection offers other reading voices. Farbod’s compact family is a deliberate choice for its drawing, not a replacement for every reading font.
Test your text and keep the license
Enter names and marked words with the Arabic keyboard. Follow the font installation guide for the TTF. SIL OFL 1.1 permits commercial projects and embedding. Keep the supplied license when redistributing the font; Farbod is a Reserved Font Name.
Compare Pfont’s Beta 7 Regular 400 for another Persian and Arabic reading trial. This package supplies only that original style, without Latin letters or Western digits; plan a Latin companion and check marked lines in your application.
