PakType Tehreer is an Arabic-script typeface drawn by Mohammad Hanif, with OpenType development by Lateef Sagar Shaikh. Its firm, traditional letterforms give a page a compact reading texture. The download provides the original Regular 400 TTF from the project’s 9.0 publication.
A traditional page with a steady text color
Try Tehreer for a booklet, an explanatory handout, or a formal reading passage. Begin with a full paragraph and the smallest text size in the document. Its substantial forms can produce a darker page than a thin editorial face, so judge the margins and line spacing together with the letters.
For books and printed documents, make a proof at the final size. Marked lines need enough vertical space, particularly where a shadda and a vowel appear together. The package contains one weight. Separate headings through size and spacing instead of expecting a genuine bold style that is not supplied.
Coverage and a practical Latin companion
The file includes basic Arabic and Persian letters, Urdu letter forms, numeral sets, and common vowel marks. Selected Urdu phrases were checked, without claiming that every language-specific convention works. Use the Arabic keyboard for your marked wording and inspect the final PDF, not only the editing view.
The Latin is drawn from Universalis ADF Std Regular. This integrated companion is a useful starting point for a short English label beside Arabic text. Adjust its apparent size rather than matching point sizes mechanically. Compare Scheherazade New for a different traditional rhythm, and Noto Naskh Arabic for variable weights from 400 to 700, compared with Tehreer’s single 400 style. The Naskh collection provides more reading comparisons.
License and installation
GPL version 2 includes a font exception: embedding Tehreer does not by itself put your document under GPL. Font redistribution requires keeping its license, notices, and corresponding source, which accompany this download. The Latin attribution is retained too. Follow the installation guide to add the original TTF to your system.
