Zain

Zain is a Boutros Fonts family developed for Zain Group’s communications and released under the Open Font License. The project places Arabic–Latin harmony at the center of its design. Its range makes it a candidate for an identity system with headlines, supporting copy and a measured use of italic emphasis.

The package contains six upright weights: 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 and 900. Italic files are supplied only at 300 and 400. Do not assume that every upright weight has a matching italic, or that this is a variable font. The official description includes Arabic, Persian and Urdu among its supported languages; test the vocabulary used by the actual organization.

Working with Zain

Set a bilingual brand sheet with a 700 heading, 400 body and 400 italic emphasis. Start with Zain’s own Latin so the intended relationship can be assessed. Compare Tajawal for another modern family and IBM Plex Sans Arabic for a different coordinated Arabic–Latin approach. If the system requires 700 italic, choose a different solution rather than inventing an unavailable style.

Files, styles and coverage

This package supplies 8 static styles, with weight values 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, 900. The ZIP contains the original TTF files; the web preview uses prepared WOFF2 subsets. Separate italic source files are included. Version: 2.000. The supplied font covers Arabic, Latin, Persian and Urdu.

License and original files
