Layla Digital is a segmented Arabic and Latin display typeface by Mohammed Isam. Gaps between the strokes give its letters an electronic readout character. This download contains the original version 2.0 TTF, supplied as one Regular 400 style.
A readout effect for short screen titles
Try it on a countdown heading, a game event card, or a short technology-themed title. Its interrupted strokes create the effect directly through the letter drawing. Keep the background simple and test the actual export; small segments may disappear when a video is compressed or a graphic is reduced to a thumbnail.
For video titles and graphics, reserve Digital for short cards with enough screen time to read. It is not a default subtitle choice. Longer spoken sentences need a quieter face and a steadier reading rhythm. Use a genuine companion font for small supporting text rather than applying synthetic bold to this single style.
Check joining, numerals, and marked words
The original file includes basic Arabic and Persian letters, Latin characters, and common vowel marks. Arabic joining works in the browser sample. Its substitution rules handle the forms, while no GPOS positioning table is present. Test marked words in your editing application before final export, particularly if several marks occur above one letter.
Western, Arabic, and Persian digit code points exist, but the latter sets largely have Western-looking outlines. This matters for a countdown or a date: verify the shapes rather than assuming that entering Arabic digits produces a familiar regional form. Use the built-in Latin for a matching title, and try Inter for ordinary English explanations.
Compare other digital approaches
Handjet creates another electronic texture. Kawkab Mono offers a different direction when you want a regular technical rhythm. Browse the display collection, use the Arabic keyboard for your wording, and follow the font installation guide.
Commercial use and embedding are permitted under SIL OFL 1.1. Retain the supplied license on redistribution; LaylaDigital is one of its eight Reserved Font Names.
Compare Electron from the Arabeyes archive for another segmented Arabic title. Its single upright 400 style has a different rhythm of broken strokes; compare the complete word and numerals at the final size.
