PakType Ajrak is an Arabic-script typeface drawn by Ayaz Gul Soomro, with OpenType work by Lateef Sagar Shaikh. Its rounded forms have a firm presence without needing a separate bold style. The download provides the original Regular 400 TTF from the project’s 9.0 publication.
A clear voice for short documents
Start with a notice, a service form, or a short reading page. Ajrak’s substantial letterforms can give a heading and a paragraph a consistent voice, while size and spacing establish the hierarchy. There is only one supplied weight, so avoid relying on artificial bold to distinguish every section.
For a Microsoft Word document, check your actual names, punctuation, and line breaks before exporting a PDF. Use right-to-left paragraph settings and give marked lines enough vertical space. A font can supply the letters while the application still needs the correct text direction and shaping settings.
Arabic, Persian, and the built-in Latin
The file contains basic Arabic and Persian letters, Urdu letter forms, numeral sets, and common vowel marks. Sample Urdu phrases were checked, but that is not a guarantee for every language convention or specialized text. Test the exact wording you plan to publish with the Arabic keyboard.
The Latin comes from Universalis ADF Std Regular. Try this integrated companion first for labels and names in a bilingual document. Compare its apparent size with the Arabic, especially on short lines. Ajrak is a different drawing from Lateef and Amiri; use the same paragraph when comparing their density and line spacing. The Naskh collection offers further reading choices.
Download with its source and license
The font uses GPL version 2 with a font exception. Embedding it does not by itself place your document under GPL. When redistributing the font, retain its notices, license, and corresponding source; these accompany the download. The Latin copyright is also preserved. Follow the installation guide to use the TTF.
