AlManzomah: broken angles and diagonals for Arabic titles

AlManzomah builds Arabic titles around broken angles and strong diagonal shapes. It is a historical Arabeyes display option for a short poster heading or graphic label where the shape of the word is part of the composition.

A diagonal rhythm to test on real words

Use the longest word in your title first. The sloping parts can change the balance of a line, so compare its ends and internal gaps before centering it in a layout. Inspect dots and diacritics after export rather than relying on the large preview alone.

A separate Latin face such as Inter can support smaller labels. Compare it with the Latin included in AlManzomah and adjust the apparent size; repeating the same diagonal emphasis in every element can make the hierarchy harder to judge.

The included historical release

The ZIP contains ae_AlManzomah.ttf at upright weight 400 from the official Arabeyes 2.0 distribution. It does not include a separately drawn bold or italic. The original internal string remains “Version 1; May 20, 2003”, which differs from the package number. Metadata names Al-Amri as manufacturer and credits regeneration to Nadim Shaikli.

Arabic and Latin letters, Western and Arabic-Indic digits, and ordinary Arabic diacritical signs are present. The Persian alphabet is incomplete. Connected words and marked phrases were checked with HarfBuzz and Chrome, but the tests do not certify every renderer, small text size or Quranic composition.

License and source files

The GPL version 2 includes an exception for embedding in documents: embedding alone does not place the document under the GPL. Use and redistribution follow the license’s conditions. The download includes the original TTF, corresponding FontForge SFD, build and preview drivers, and exact README/COPYING notices with Free UCS attribution.
