DG Agnadeen is a geometric Arabic family by Hossam El Deen Ahmed. Its seven static weights let you move from a fine heading to a dense banner without switching designs. Start with short titles, presentation headings or campaign text where the shape of the letters can remain visible.
A low baseline and upright rhythm
The Arabic drawing combines upright stems, long horizontal connections and rounded lower curves. Stroke contrast stays restrained. In heavier weights, the horizontal line becomes a strong part of a word’s silhouette; in Thin, it reads as a much lighter framework. Compare a complete headline rather than choosing from an isolated letter.
For advertising and announcement layouts, try Regular for supporting text and Bold or Heavy for the main message. Thin and Ultralight need enough size and contrast to survive reduction. A crowded background can erase their fine strokes, even when the same wording works well at a larger size.
Seven files with a gap in the weight range
The download supplies Thin 100, Ultralight 200, Light 300, Regular 400, Bold 700, Extrabold 800 and Heavy 900, all version 2.015. There are no 500 or 600 files and no italic. Select an available weight explicitly rather than relying on a program to synthesize one.
Arabic letters, common vowel marks, basic Latin and Western and Arabic-Indic digits are present. Joining, lam-alef and marked samples were checked in Chrome. The file lacks letters needed for Persian, so this package is not a Persian or Urdu recommendation. Those checks also do not establish Quranic typesetting support.
Compare spacing before committing
The included Latin can handle short labels alongside Arabic. Compare Cairo for a variable family with more intermediate weight choices, or Almarai for a smaller four-weight set. Explore the Kufi collection, compose a sample with the Arabic keyboard, and use the installation guide. The original TTFs come with the author’s OFL 1.1 notice; commercial use is permitted under its conditions.
For a related geometric design with a project-specific ending sign, compare All Genders in three weights. Its special ligatures need their documented input sequences; they create a graphic sign while preserving the source characters.
