Sorena is Mohammad Darvishi’s pixel lettering project, developed from an initial idea by Erfan Kheirallahi. This download supplies its Normal drawing for Arabic, Persian and Latin headings, with small departures from a strict pixel grid.
Normal and PixelPerfect belong to the same family
The official project distinguishes a stricter PixelPerfect drawing from Normal, where some shapes leave the grid for the sake of the letterform. Our ZIP contains only Sorena-Normal.ttf from the current Main_Fonts directory, version 1.300, at weight 400. PixelPerfect remains available from the official source; it is not a second family or an additional file in this package.
Older folders remain in the repository. This download uses the February 2026 file rather than the older 1.110 font found elsewhere in the tree. The repository was archived in February 2026, so evaluate the supplied release on your own requirements instead of relying on future upstream updates.
Where to try the Normal drawing
Start with a game title, a short poster heading or a compact graphic label. Test the final pixel dimensions and export format, particularly the dots that distinguish Arabic letters. Normal’s relaxed grid is a design choice; it does not guarantee a clearer result at every screen size.
The file contains Arabic, Persian and basic Latin characters, ordinary vowel marks and Arabic shaping tables. Check joined text and stacked marks in the application you intend to use. For supporting Latin paragraphs, compare the included Latin with a plain family such as Inter and adjust the size against the Arabic heading.
Try Rooyin Free when you need a pixel family with two supplied weights. Compare Handjet for a different construction from repeated elements. A pixel appearance alone does not establish monospacing or suitability for source-code columns.
License and source
Sorena uses the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Personal and commercial use, embedding and redistribution are permitted under its conditions; keep the included license with font files you share. No reserved font name is declared in the supplied license.
See the official Sorena repository, browse Arabic display fonts and compare fonts for posters and ads. Type your test heading with the Arabic keyboard.
For setup steps, follow the Arabic font installation guide.
For a different stepped outline from the same designer, compare Unixel’s single Regular 400 style. Its letter widths vary, and the project reports incomplete vowel-mark handling; keep this comparison to short, unvocalized headings.
