Shabnam

Shabnam is Saber Rastikerdar’s Persian web family, derived from Vazir and paired internally with Latin glyphs from Roboto. This archived release supplies five static weights rather than a variable font.

An alternative from the Persian web-font archive

Use Shabnam when comparing the visual identity of an existing Persian site or evaluating alternatives to its current sans family. Test the headings, body text and bilingual navigation together. Its origin in the Vazir family is part of that comparison, not a reason to assume that its metrics match another Vazir or Vazirmatn release.

The Thin file can be useful in a large heading, but inspect it carefully before using it for small controls. The archive contains normal default-digit files here; special digit variants and Latin-free editions are not bundled. The source repository is archived, so choose from what this tested release already provides.

Files, weights and supported scripts

The ZIP contains 5 original TTF files, version 5.0.1, with the license. Available preview weights: 100, 300, 400, 500, 700. The supplied source covers Arabic, Persian, Latin.

Compare Tajawal for bilingual navigation and Noto Sans Arabic for a separate multiweight Arabic interface design.

If a Persian interface needs intermediate weight settings, test Vazirmatn’s original variable file against Shabnam’s static release. Recheck component widths and Latin references rather than treating the related Vazir histories as a drop-in replacement guarantee.

License and source

Personal and commercial use, embedding and redistribution are permitted under SIL Open Font License 1.1. Keep the included license and notices when distributing font files. The package also retains the original Latin component notices and Apache 2.0 terms. See the official Shabnam source.
