Rooyin Free brings a pixel-based drawing to Arabic and Persian lettering. Designed by Mohammad Darvishi, this free edition supplies Regular and Bold for short headings, game graphics and display experiments that need joined Arabic text.
What the free edition contains
The ZIP contains RooyinFree-Regular.ttf and RooyinFree-Bold.ttf, version 1.100. Their weights are 400 and 700. Rooyin is also offered through its publisher in a broader range, but those additional products are not part of this download. Evaluate the supplied Free files instead of assuming every style shown on a commercial product page is included.
A pixel drawing can create a strong visual theme, but the result depends on size and rendering. Try your heading at its final dimensions, inspect dots and counters, then check the exported image. Avoid treating the two weights as a substitute for testing small body text.
Arabic shaping and bilingual samples
The supplied files contain Arabic, Persian and Latin characters, ordinary Arabic vowel marks and OpenType shaping tables. Test connected words and marked examples in your actual design application; the presence of those tables does not guarantee identical results in every renderer.
Compare Handjet if you want letters assembled from repeated elements and a different set of design controls. Sorena offers another pixel approach with a single Normal weight in our package. Neither comparison makes these families fixed-width coding fonts. For accompanying Latin copy, try the built-in Latin first; reserve a plain face such as Inter for longer supporting text if the contrast works in your layout.
License and a practical test
The two Free files are distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows personal and commercial use and redistribution under its terms. Keep the exact license with shared font files. Rooyin is a reserved name when distributing modified versions.
Check the official Rooyin Free repository, explore Arabic display families and compare fonts for posters and ads. Build a real title with the Arabic keyboard before exporting your artwork.
For setup steps, follow the Arabic font installation guide.
For a short unvocalized graphic, compare the Noqte beta. It supplies one style recorded at 500, while Rooyin Free offers 400 and 700. Noqte’s vowel marks add unwanted width, so keep that comparison to unmarked titles.
